History of Incidents
Since the onset of the full-scale conflict in Ukraine, a number of Russian military officials have been targeted within Moscow.
This new event follows other high-profile incidents, such as:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in a car bomb attack in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov was killed in late 2024 when a bomb concealed on a scooter was detonated remotely.
While a source from Ukraine previously connected Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such claims are rarely officially confirmed as a matter of official stance.
Hostilities has witnessed covert operations moving into the streets of the Russian capital.
The examination into General Sarvarov's death remains underway.
