Experience the Remastered Classic Journey: This Free Demo for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Debuts Soon.
Players eagerly awaiting the launch of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined won't have to wait the full month. A exciting trial experience is set to go live on the seventh of January, providing a sizable taste into the game's beginning segments. Critically, all progress achieved within this demo is eligible to be imported directly into the full game upon its eventual debut.
More Than a Simple Remake: A Complete Overhaul
This title represents a comprehensive re-envisioning of the landmark year 2000 RPG, originally known as Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. In a distinct departure from other series re-releases, such as the previously launched HD-2D iterations, this version utilizes a unique 3D aesthetic. Locales have been crafted to evoke intricate miniature worlds, with characters having a whimsical toy-like appearance.
"Even with the previous version, the main quest was still exceptionally long. Therefore, we came to a determination that we wanted to condense the story, [and] make this adventure for modern gamers."
Major Gameplay Improvements & Modernizations
Square Enix has added several changes to update the classic experience. These include:
- Expedited Overworld Encounters: Taking a cue from modern role-playing games, weaker enemies can now be dispatched instantly on the field eliminating the need for entering a separate traditional combat screen.
- Adjustable Battle Pace: Gamers can accelerate battle sequences to rapidly get past less challenging fights.
- New Job Mechanics: One completely new job class has been added for this remake. Furthermore, party members now have the ability to master a secondary vocation, significantly enhancing customization depth.
These changes are designed to address one of the 2000 game's most noted criticisms: its considerable playtime. The original adventure could easily require more than 100 hours to complete. The reimagined version has been specifically structured to improve progression and cut down on perceived bloat.
