An Australian man who vaulted across a fence and reached for celebrity Ariana Grande has been deported and prohibited from Singapore.

The man, twenty-six, was given a sentence to nine days in prison for being a public nuisance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the country's border control informed Singaporean press.

The man shoved through camera crews and charged at the actress and singer, who was attending the Asian debut for the film on November 13. Co-star Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.

The individual has a record of disrupting concerts and celebrity events, including rushing the stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year.

The occurrence provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with many accusing him of re-traumatising Grande.

The singer has mentioned experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist bombing at her concert in Manchester in spring of 2017 took the lives of 22 people and injured hundreds.

In the legal process, the authorities learned he had tried to gain access on the film's premiere multiple times, according to local news sources.

He then made a follow-up try to cross the barriers. Security staff prevented him and restrained him.

Wen later posted video clips appreciating the celebrity for letting him on the carpet and said he was "released."

Police took him into custody the next day and brought charges against him with public nuisance, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Court Judge the magistrate was referenced by Channel News Asia as stating that he was looking for publicity, noting that he was incorrect to think he would not face any penalties.

The singer has not spoken about the incident.

Erivo mentioned the incident to the press, saying that she "only aimed to make sure my friend was safe."

"I believe he had no intention to us danger, but you cannot be certain with such situations, and I sought to make sure that she was alright. That was my first instinct," she stated.
