Information Available Concerning the Those Lost of the Bondi Beach Terrorist Incident
No fewer than 16 lives perished and more than 40 were wounded when attackers opened fire at a Hanukah event at Bondi Beach, an incident Australian police have labeled a terrorist attack.
According to the most recent information, authorities have announced the death toll is 16, which includes one of the alleged attackers. Furthermore, 42 wounded individuals were transported to hospital.
The victims are still awaiting publicly named, but investigators think their ages are from 10 and 87 years of age.

Eli Schlanger
London-born clergyman Eli Schlanger, 41, was the first to be publicly identified.
Described as a father of five children, he was the assistant rabbi at Chabad of Bondi. Relatives and acquaintances spoke of him as “lively, dynamic, and vibrant and a very kind and sociable person who loved to help people”.
“How is it possible that a joyful rabbi who went to a beach to share joy and positivity, to make the world a better place, lose his life in this way?” a relative remarked.
Schlanger and his wife had recently celebrated the arrival of their newest son in October.
Alexander Kleytman
Alexander Kleytman was also confirmed among the deceased, according to his wife.
She told the events before the attack, explaining they had been standing together when the shooting erupted. “He shielded me because he wanted to stay near me,” she stated.
The couple were both Holocaust survivors, having experienced unspeakable terror in their childhood. They had later relocated to Australia from Eastern Europe.
Dan Elkayam
The French authorities have announced that French national Dan Elkayam is among the dead.
Publicly, the Foreign Minister declared that France mourned with his family and loved ones, the Jewish community, and the Australian people.
“This despicable act is a new, tragic manifestation of a disgusting rise of hatred against Jews that we must put a stop to,” the message read.
One Child
A 10-year-old girl who was taken to the Sydney Children’s Hospital is among those who had died, authorities stated.
One Israeli Citizen
One victim from Israel was a fatality in the incident, as per multiple sources citing the Israeli government.
Those Injured
Of the 42 people taken to hospital, many are still receiving treatment, with several in critical condition. The injured comprise two officers who responded to the attack.
One of the injured is a bystander who rushed to the scene to tackle one of the attackers. Called a local hero, he received bullet wounds but is in stable condition in hospital.
Arsen Ostrovsky
One of those wounded is Arsen Ostrovsky, a public affairs professional. Reports indicate he was injured and underwent treatment in hospital.
Communicating, he described the incident as an “utter carnage,” but also praised the actions of those who came to assist. He said he believed it was a “stroke of luck” he survived.
Evan Zlatkis
Evan Zlatkis, a media director, was another casualty in the shooting. He said he heard “a large number” of gunshots.
“Initially, I believed it was something less lethal, but it penetrated my own skin and into my leg,” he explained. “I sustained a gunshot wound. I received first aid. I’m ok.”
